The ATD Foundation is seeking an individual to join our Board of Trustees. This person will have had experience working in international development and a good knowledge of programmes that cover education, health, water & sanitation.
What will you be doing?
General responsibilities would include reading board papers, contributing to discussions on key issues, supporting strategic planning, helping to connect the charity with potential new partners and supporters and contributing on other issues on which you have special expertise.
Our Ideal Candidate would:
Ensure the charity is carrying out its purposes for the public benefit Comply with the charity’s governing documents, legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities Devote the necessary time and effort Act as an ambassador for the ATD Foundation, representing the organisation Act in the best interests of the charity An understanding of the legal responsibilities and liabilities of a Trustee Act collectively Manage the charity’s resources responsibly Avoid any conflict of interest
This is an opportunity to support and shape the work of ATD Foundation and you can make a significant difference to our mission. As a trustee, you will be working closely with a passionate team of people who have a range of experience and perspectives.
The anticipated minimum time commitment would be approximately one day every other month (including attendance at quarterly Board meetings) but the role would allow for an increased time contribution if possible.

What are we looking for?
The ideal candidate will have:
International development experience in the not-for-profit, social enterprise, governmental or donor community. Relevant experience of living or working in Sub-Saharan Africa Preferably educated to degree level or equivalent in International Development or similar field
