Ingeenium is looking for a new Chair of the Board to join Team Trustee!
We are looking for someone who is happy to help steer Ingeenium in the right direction, to help us think strategically, to ensure that everything we do meets our charitable aims and to help us make the biggest impact possible with the resources that we have.
Ingeenium is a participatory arts charity that builds community through creativity. We mainly work in libraries, especially in East London, providing projects, workshops and events that are collaborative, inclusive, participatory and community led. We dream of a society where everyone can come together, connect and create.
Our projects have included a songwriting project for people experiencing mental health difficulties, a craft project for families living in a deprived area of Newham, applied theatre for children requiring hospice care and lots more!
Who we are looking for:
Our ideal chair will have knowledge about charity governance and the importance of participatory arts. They will be a strategic thinker, inspiring, innovative, energetic and passionate about moving the charity forwards.
For us, fit is far more important than experience – you don’t necessarily need to have been a chair before in order to fill this role. Our meetings are fun, relaxed (though productive!) and informal and we very much believe we can do wonderful things without worry or stress. Our participants are always our focus.
We expect the Chair of the Board to lead our trustee meetings, which happen every two months (which are currently on Thursday evenings), to have separate meetings with Jessica (our Director) regularly throughout the year, occasionally attend events/workshops and to be readily available via e-mail and whatsapp for project/budget approvals etc.
