View Trustee Position
We are looking for two more talented, experienced, energetic and committed people to join our dynamic Board of Trustees.
Mind in Bradford promotes mental well-being and helps people experiencing mental health problems to manage and work towards recovery. People across Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven need our services more than ever, which is why we are extending the reach of our services, maximizing their positive impact, and building collaborative partnerships to collectively make the biggest possible positive difference.
If you are passionate about mental health and wellbeing, have talents, skills and experience to offer (especially in accounting, IT or marketing), and want to make a direct, positive difference to our charity and everyone we help, we would like to hear from you.
The role of Trustee is not one to be taken lightly, it is hard work and unpaid, it also carries enormous responsibility. The Trustees have the ultimate legal and financial responsibility for running our Charity.
Being a Trustee, however, can be immensely rewarding and fulfilling. It provides many opportunities for personal development. While you bring your skills and energy to running the Charity, you will also find you are gaining new skills, knowledge and experience, for example through involvement in strategic planning, policy development, setting budgets, organisational planning, recruitment and collaborating with local and national partners.
You will be joining a team of Trustees who work closely together, and whose individual skills and expertise ensure that as a whole, we are effective in the governance of our charity.
You will be an excellent team player, with determination, integrity, and an ability to collaborate effectively with others. You will be ready to commit your time and energy, and to work diligently. You will be required to take the initiative and to have the ability to work autonomously, conduct necessary research, and prepare any relevant evidence according to the needs of the Board.
Above all, you will have the ability to be consistently objective and impartial, and to consider the wider perspective in all situations, in order to place the clear needs of the charity first.
The minimum commitment to this role includes regular Board meetings, email and phone discussions. There may also be a requirement to represent the organisation at external events and meetings.
This is an extremely important and significant role within our organisation. You will be working at the heart of everything we do and achieve.
