  • Need

    Need

Live Poetry Performances in this area are unheard of. Live Poetry for SENIOR CITIZENS non-existent, without RBW none of these writers could publish or perform their work in a comfortable atmosphere suitable for senior citizens (some are in their 90s).

Stage Writing: the drama event is designed to show writers how written work is transformed by professional actors and stage directors. RBW is the only writers' group for senior citizens in this area.

    Solution

RBW creates opportunities for vulnerable people where none were there before.

RBW bridges the gap between elderly writers sitting at home alone and being supported in the real world. This is real achievement. RBW boosts self-confidence.

RBW produces high quality, recordable outcomes in our publications and audio tracks. Our events are photographed and videoed.

  • Impact

    Impact

LONG TERM - 2011 will mark our fourth such event. This is the high spot of our year. As a confidence builder this is a wonderful event.

Last year all the play rehearsals went up on YOUTUBE and one play script was grabbed by an AMDRAM group and will be put on this Xmas.

The poetry anthology started three years ago with 14 poets. By 2010 it was 26 poets taking part. Ages range from 51 to 94yrs.

No-one else does what we do in this area. ALL we do is FREE for those taking part.

    Risk

Risks are minimal. The poetry book will have been printed by April. So it only needs readers. If someone is poorly then someone else reads for them.

The actors have worked with us previously and they are sent the scripts weeks in advance so they have time to work on the material before the actual event.

    Reporting

All graphics and video are uploaded on to our websites.

We provide space for donor's banners in the workshop area. Donors are very welcome to come & spend the day with us - we'd love it

We have feedback forms for all our events.

We can provide an evaluation report if so required.
