Tel Aviv itself has a total population of 390,000 while Greater Tel Aviv has a total population of close to 3.1 million. Most of Ohel Sarah students [some 75%] come from these lower socio-economic sectors. and because of the large families with little means, more dependence is placed on Ohel Sarah - a hot meal, help with studies, extra curricular activities etc.
