Help us build a Hostel for underprivileged girls

We are currently looking for funding to build a Hostel, a canteen and kitchen for the School Hostel to accommodate more of the far away villages to stay at the school including indoor & outdoor recreation area for the students .we need bunk beds and mattresses for the boarders. We need £8,000

    Need

    The needs of a hostel to accommodate students from far away villages so that they can have access to vocational skills. The hostel will need, a canteen and kitchen for them to stay. Also an indoor and outdoor recreation area for the students .
    Most villages have to walk miles to attend school so this problem can be solve by us providing bunk beds and mattresses for the boarders. We therefore need to raise funds £10,000 to build the hostel.

    Solution

    Our problem will be solved if we get the funding to build a hostel for those needed students who comes from far, it will get the students to be involved in other activities that they will not able to achieve if they are not staying at the hostel, this will allow the school to run a series of workshops to help them.

    » Raising funds to build the Hostel which will help many students to learn and achieve a vocational skill.

    Success will be receiving over 200 students attending classes and creating Vocational Skill for them to help their villages and also their future.

    Garden project:
    We aim to set up a garden beside the school to grow vegetables to help feed them.

    Activities

    » Involve students in the planning of the garden giving responsibilities to them and involving them in the decision making also this will help them.

    Success will be...because it will make them feels part of the project. They will be also selling some of the foodstuff to the community. Having involve the locals


  • Impact

    Impact

    The long term changes will be 20% - 50% vocational Skills to people who otherwise have not access to education in the area.
    We will also continue to work closely with the students to track the progress of them. Success will be bring at least 50 deprived youth p.a. gaining full time business. The hostel will provide an accommodation to over 200 students who comes to the school. This will provide a long term accommodation for many years to come.

    Risk

    Security and yearly maintenance. This issue has been dealt with as we will employ a security and a Caretaker and health and Safety policies.

    Reporting

    Donors are welcome to visit the project. Also pictures of students and the building will be sent as a report to donors who require it.

  • Background

    Location

    The area has got very poor people and deprived youths in
    Akosombo in Eastern Region Ghana. The location is perfect and will help the students to concentrate to learn as its situated in a rural quite place.

    Beneficiaries

    VOCATIONAL SCHOOL Hostel Project will help many underprivileged youth who can not otherwise get an education will now benefit in staying at the school hostel. Over 200 people will benefit and it will turn their lives better.
