Narrowgate Emergency Night Shelter
An emergiency overnight provision for rough sleepers
January 2010 - December 2012
Manchester City Mission

Narrowgate is a simple dormitory with 20 beds. The clients are watched over throughout the night allowing them to feel safe
To eventually help rough sleepers access the support they need to move onto a more secure lifestyle
Activities» Narrowgate provides supper, a clean bed in a warm environment and breakfast to those who would otherwise have spent the night on the street
During the first 6 months of opening over 30 clients went on to secure housing

Rough sleepers, newly released offenders
We are able to provide very basic help. Many of our clients struggle with the freedom given in private rooms in hostels and abuse the system thus losing their places. Our clients are watched overnight and are not allowed drugs or alcohol on the premises.
