Setting lively minds free

To supply communication aids to disabled people of all ages from all over the U.K., with severe speech, movement or learning difficulties and so provide them with a 'voice', to express their most basic needs, further their education or employment prospects and lead more independent lives

constantly on going

  • Need

Many local authorities or social services do not have a budget to cover the cost of communication aids and most people do not have the necessary funds to purchase these expensive items themselves. This is where Sequal steps in.

The Sequal Trust fundraisies to provide communication equipment when help is not available from a statutory body. Providing the applicant comes within our remit, we will be able to help.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide communication aids to those who do not have a voice and to allow them greater indendence

» Continual and ongoing fundraising - both local to each individual concerned, and nationally.

    What success will look like

Success will be shown by individuals being removed from our 'waiting list' as we fund and issue their necessary equipment; also by feedback from their healthcare professionals.

  • Impact

We will change the lives of disabled people by providing them with a means to voice their requirements and opinions, to interact with their family and friends, to participate in everyday society and events, to further their education and employment prospects and most importantly, to relieve their sense of isolation and frustration and allow them to become more independent people.
We offer a full support program which allows us to obtain feedback from the individual or their representative.

The state of the present economy is making it more difficult to raise monies with many grant giving charities forced to close or having less disposable funds to distribute.
We spend many man hours researching to find new contacts and forge new relationships. We are also trying to heighten our profile in an effort to let as many individulas and organisations as possible, be made aware of us, our work amongst the disabled community and how their grants and donations will help us to help others.

We are happy to provide progress reports or to arrange any media coverage requested by our donors.
We also issue an annual newsletter, to members and donors alike, which includes letters and stories of people successfully funded in the last 12 months and whose lives have been improved dramatically.

The Sequal offices are based in Ellesmere, Shropshire but we help people from all over the U.K. So although fundraising is conducted from the office, our members and donors are country wide.

Disabled children and adults from all over the United Kingdom will be able to benefit from our assistance, as long as they come within our remit for communication.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

We would seem to be the only charity who not only provide the variety of equipment we do, but also provide the maintenance and support program which is vital to the well being and peace of mind of the individual. This support is on going for the life of the individual who can come back to us many times, as their needs change. Our success is proven by the thousands of people we have helped in 40 years of operation.
