Team Leader salary shortfall
We are a listening ear to children and young people dealing with difficult life events like parental separation, divorce and bereavement. Due to huge demands on our service we need to increase the hours of our team leader who looks after all of our volunteers.
January 2013 - June 2013
Charity information: This Way Up
Our project helps teenagers reduce their anxiety by providing someone to talk to about their problems enabling them to concentrate more on their school work and get on better with their peers.
Our team leader coordinates the volunteers and also meets with young people in groups and 1:1
We can reduce the waiting list for our services by increasing the hours that our team leader works. She can then give more time to the team and help recruit new volunteers. She can also increase the amount of time she spends meeting with young people who need to talk to someone.
50 young people will have access to support who might otherwise not have had someone to talk to.
Activities» Increase th hours of our team leader who is already skilled up to do this work.
What success will look like
Success will be young people will feel more confident in understanding how they feel and have strategies to cope. 50 young people will have accessed support.
Young people will be more able to concentrate in school time and be able to name and understand feelings. They will be come more resilient as a result.
Reports from teaching staff will confirm that the young people are more able to cope.
There is a risk that we will be unable to cope with the demand for our service. There is a risk that we will not receive further funding for our team leader salary. We are dealing with this by seeking funding from other sources and only 50% from The Big Give.
By quarterly newsletter, regular emails, telephone calls and visits to major donors and local meetings.
