  • Need

One particular problem we have at the moment, which has been exacerbated by the present economic climate, is that we spend an inordinate amount of time trying to fund the charity, rather than work the charity! The most valuable assets we have are the adults we put into the Childs life and yet we find a lot of that adult time directed to fund raising and to compound the problem further the salaries of the staff and the support costs of the volunteers take up a significant portion of of our income

Any help you could extend to our charity would have a significant effect in increasing our creativity and contact time with the young people and families of our charity, in these very difficult times.

    Aim 1

    To raise core funding

    » n/a

Success will be...raising enough core funding that we can fully concentrate our efforts and energies on the work we do.

  • Impact

Core funding will enable us to carry out and expand on thevital work we do with some of britains most disadvantaged youngsters.

We do an annual 'End of term' report which details our progress to all donors.

  • Background

Second Chance is a national, serious and innovative social working agency. The children we work with come from three main backgrounds in roughly equal proportions. They may have been abused, come from a poverty stricken background or have learning or behavioural difficulties. This is an over simplification and many experience all three backgrounds! We consider the children we work with to be amongst the most disadvantaged group of people in Britain today.
