Translation Project

Finding out your son or sons have a life taking medical research condition is one of the hardest things any family will take on. To have no useful easy to understand literature on the condition makes it even harder. This project looks to address this.

Open ended. As we can we want to add more languages.

  • Need

XLP is a rare life taking condition. Googling XLP will bring up an array of medical publications that are difficult for any non medical person to interpret - especially if English is not a first language.

By translating family frendly material from English into other languages. We have already undertaken this for some lanaguages and the response back from XLP affcted families has been 100% supportive.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To translate key parts for the XLP web site and materials into a number of languages.

» Appoint professional medical translaters to undertake this project.
» Each translated piece will then be peer reviewed for accuracy.

Success will be...the responses we get back from XLP families who found the translations useful. We have already received a good number from the translations already undertaken.

  • Impact

It will help XLP families around the globe to face up to the long road that they have ahead. It will bring comfort that they are not alone in their struggle. It will help increase the awareness and knowledge of XLP globally.

Accuracy of translation is everything. We believe that we can get around this by both appointing a professional translations company and the subsequent peer review.

By email update if they allow. The fruits of their donation will appear on our web site.
