For mental health service users to learn/develop skills in DVD computer editing and use these new-found skills to promote and record community events. We have been successful with an application to Lloyds TSB for Â£16,000 - we are looking for a further Â£10,000.

Digital Exclusion that goes hand in hand with social exclusion and also community cohesion to share resources with others in the local community.
Making a positive contribution is an essential element of well-being. Facilitation will enable project users to record community projects, editing and transposing the results to DVD for community promotion and archiving of local history to build a library/archive of local community activities. This project can help to build community cohesion, through engaging with many diverse communities within the neighbourhood, getting others to understand what they do by visual media promotion.
Create 10 community DVDs in the next year

What success will look like
Success will be... production, including design artwork, of 10 promotional DVDs and having at least 20 people trained in their production
The project will have proven, tangible results upon which to base a future social enterprise in DVD production and publishing. Socially excluded people will learn new skills, make new friends, and be more aware of the community around them.
Lack of take up of free training... lack of response from community projects wanting visual promotion of their work
Monthly or quarterly, whichever is agreed, and also ad hoc statements of sucesses through an online blog

Mutley Greenbank Neighbourhood of Plymouth Devon. Community projects serving this deprived neighbourhood and other charities or organisations that we promote on the DVDs we produce.
We are centrally located with a dedicated IT Suite and staff qualified to deliver DVD and ICT training at our UK Online Centre. We are also the leading mental health charity for Plymouth and the area.
