Nature in Art - Assistance for Schools
The policy of the Nature in Art Education Programme is to encourage people to learn through practical activities and new experiences and to have fun.
However, we have been informed by some schools that they are unable to afford to take part. So, we would like to subsidise their visits to us.

Need
Need
Some special schools, rural schools or inner city schools have found that they either can't bring enough children to cover our minimum costs or they are unable to raise enough money for the coach travel. They are therefore unable to participate in external activities such as our education programme.
Solution
We would like to raise enough money to subsidise these schools either by waving our participation fee or by offering to pay for their coach hire.
-
Aims
Aim 1
To raise money for travel and attendance costs.
Activities
» We will promote giving to this fund through our website, external events and members newsletter.
What success will look like
Success will be having enough money to contact those schools having difficulty, enabling them to participate and helping them to meet curriculum targets.

Impact
Impact
Last year we had over 3,000 children visit us as part of our education programme. We would like to ensure that next year all schools, who want to, are able to participate and are not restricted by their funds.
We will monitor the percentage of children able to attend due to this fund.Risk
The main risk is that the schools will not want to participate even with the funding. However, having spoken to some of the schools we do not see this as a problem.
Petrol prices will no doubt contiue to rise which could mean that we are uanble to help as many schools as we have initially planned however we feel that is still important to help the schools most in need.Reporting
We will keep The Big Give project details up to date, provide details on our website and in our newsletter.

Background
Location
Nature in Art is the UK's only museum and art gallery dedicated to art inspired by nature. We run an education programme for all ages and have just been awarded the quality mark for education outside the classroom.
We are based in Gloucestershire between Gloucester and Tewkesbury.Beneficiaries
Gloucester has two inner city wards within the worst 10% most deprived in England, and Cheltenham and the Forest of Dean also have badly deprived areas. Gloucestershire also has 14 special schools.
We therefore feel that there are a large number of children who could benefit from our education programme. -
