Need
Need
There are about 10,000 people living with and affected by HIV in South London. Most of these people are living in isolation and hard to reach and are less supported. Some have even lost their sense of living and confidence. Due to the stigma associated with HIV, these people do not know who to go to and seek help outside the medical help offered by the National Health Services. There are a lot more living with the disease who do not want to come out for support and treatment.
Solution
Organise four day-outs in settings away from home to enable members to interact.
Organise 12 monthly meetings where members interact and discuss matters of mutual interest
Organise six workshops and seminars on topics including medical/health, nutrition, immigration and psychiatry
Hold on-going one-to-one counselling sessions
Members call each other at any time 24/7 to discuss matters of mutual consent and generally encourage each other

Impact
Impact
Increase in awareness of activities to undertake to cope with life and increase in the knowledge, skill and a positive change in attitude that provides empowerment to deal with challenging life situations.
These will be measured by the number of people reached and the change to their lives prior and after the projectRisk
One major factor preventing people from coming forward is disclosure. The people living with and affected by HIV do not want their information to be disclosed or shared.
To deal with this issue, we have registered with the Information Commission with the Data Protection Act to assure members of our confidentiality. We have put in place a confidentiality policy to deal with any issue of disclosure.Reporting
A list of all donors will be complied and an annual report and account will be sent to them. What however, will not be reported to them is the names of the beneficiaries. But when requested an identifier in place of names will be sent.
