Woodland protection and wildlife release

We already have a 3 and a half acre woodland purchased in 2009. We want to purchase additional woodland and enhance our habitat creation and wildlife release zones, and create extensive wildlife corridors across County Durham and beyond.

It will be a one off purchase and then long-term management

    What success will look like

Success will be... the purchase of the land

    Aim 2

To create more safe wildlife release areas

» The improvement of habitat zones in the woodland and around it for different native animal species

    What success will look like

Success will be... zones being created within a year of purchase

    Aim 3

    Creation of new habitat

» To develop zones for new habitat creation

    What success will look like

Success will be...zones being created within a year of purchase

  • Impact

The long-term changes will be to encourage native wildlife to flourish and create ideal habitat for species where habitat has been lost

We will need to allocate staff time to management and protection of the habitat and ensure it is within a manageable distance to the sanctuary
