Surviving Winter Campaign
Helping our vulnerable older people tackle fuel poverty and survive the winter by donating your Winter Fuel Allowance or making a contribution.
September 2014 - November 2015
Charity information: Hampshire and Isle of Wight Community Foundation
There is significant need in our communities which is often overlooked. Thousands of elderly people and families are struggling with the sharp rise in living costs and utility bills leaving them facing big challenges this winter, and unsure of where to turn. Winter is hard on many of us, but for some it is truly a challenge to survive. We know that the need is greater and therefore we encourage people to give in order to help people in their local area.
By making a donation of up to £200, the equivalent of the Winter Fuel Allowance, you will be supporting our older people to combat rising energy prices and significantly reduce excess winter deaths. All donations will go directly to those in need to help pay fuel bills, pay for repairs and help keep them active and healthy.
To raise £20,000 to support those at risk heat their homes and reduce excess winter deaths.

What success will look like
We will successfully distribute the fund money around Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to help those in need survive the winter.
Raising national and local awareness of and alleviate the needs of the older and vulnerable people during winter. We aim to continue running this campaign well into the future.
A fall in the number of donations during the winter period due to a lack of available information. To combat this a national and local campaign will be taking place to help disperse information and encourage donations.
Through Annual reports and Press Releases/articles.

The older and vulnerable people of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Through our connection to various local community and voluntary groups we are best placed to receive donations from all over the county and disperse the funds appropriately, ensuring that all areas benefit.
