Wheelchairs for the disabled

Disabled people in Mityana Uganda are just left lying on the mud floor in their homes and never see the outside world. We are trying to buy some wheelchairs so that they may see the beauty and sunshine around them.

As long as we can get money

  • Need

Disabled people's needs are not catered for in Uganda. They are left with no help. If you are unable to walk you stay inside your dark bare home for your whole life. By having a wheelchair and being pushed just outside the home gies you a better well being.

If we can buy wheelchairs for these people their whole life will change for the better.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

    To buy 10 wheelchairs

    What success will look like

Success will be... when 10 disabled people are able to be outside their home.

  • Impact

For disabled people to have a life. By seeing the happiness on their faces.

That the people given the wheelchairs are suitable candidates.

We visit Mityana regularly so can write a report and also with photos

  • Background

Mityana is 50 miles north west of Kampala, Uganda. Many people in the villages live in mud houses, with a mud floor and sleep on mats. There, if any, are small windows so it is dark inside. People are subsistence farmers.

Disabled people and also their families
