Young Hearty Voices
Young people living with heart disease face physical limitations and an uncertain lifespan. Normal development and education will be impeded and they frequently feel lonely and isolated from school friends and family. By our estimation, there are 28,000 teenagers in the UK currently living with congenital heart disease and arrhythmia. Young Hearty Voices is a pilot three year project starting in January 2009 and ending in September 2011. It will offer young people aged 13–19, growing up with heart disease, the opportunity to increase their involvement in the design of their health and care services.
