Project information

CARA (Charity No. 1135610) is an independent charity that was set up in July 2003 to provide free legal advice and representation to people facing disadvantage. It is an international organisation committed and dedicated to empowering the poor by promoting justice, health, education and social development of all of its members and the public by improving the quality of life of the disadvantaged people of our community through helping them to know, understand and achieve their rights.

We seek to:
*Raise awareness of education, training and employment opportunities
*Provide access to translation and interpretation facilities
*Support neighbourhood initiatives, community development and regeneration
*Promote racial harmony
*Raise awareness of, and support issues around, mental and physical health
*Provide access to recreation and leisure facilities for people in need.

We are asking for any donation to help us to raise £100,000 p.a. to help towards the running costs of our Day Centre Project and to pay a full-time volunteer support worker who has been co-ordinating, supporting the volunteers and ensuring that administrative requirements are fully met.
