Emergency prevention of imminent animal disease threat

The spread of PPR (also known as goats plague) in Kenya and Uganda since 2006 is threatening rural people who depend on their animals for their survival.

In Tanzania, it is still possible to prevent cross-border spread of the disease through a large-scale vaccination campaign. This will mean that livestock owners will not lose this important source of food and income to a preventable disease.
