INCREASING ACCESS TO EDUCATION FOR DEAFBLIND CHILDREN IN TANZANIA
Children born deafblind in the developing world are completely isolated, ignored and even locked away. Their parents do not understand what is wrong and are overwhelmed with the stress of looking after them. Sense International provides specialist training and support to build the bridge between these children and the rest of the world.
This project aims to increase access to education by setting up two new school units for deafblind children. We will also provide training for specialist teachers so that they can begin to provide services which meet the needs of this unique disability.
