Curzon Roof Appeal
Curzon Roof Appeal
The Curzon’s roof is desperately in need of repair, costing £500,000. Can you help us raise £100,000 this year?
April 2019 - December 2019
Charity information: Curzon (Clevedon) Community Centre for the Arts Ltd
Condition reports have identified many elements in poor condition and the need for urgent significant repairs: water penetration from the leaking roof causing wet rot in timberwork and possible dry rot, and in turn damaging the internal fabric, plasterwork and the skelionite panelling. Delaminating, loose and fragile roof tiles are no longer capable of re-use and will be replaced with tiles matching visually.
The project will repair the leaking and damaged roof.
To raise funds to repair the roof.

The Curzon, is based in Clevedon, North Somerset, population of 21,000+. Customer numbers have increased over the last few years (from an average of 60,000 pa across 2012-2014 to 78,000 in 2018) as we have been developing and diversifying our programming.
Analysis from surveys shows that 46% of our customers live in Clevedon, 62.7% are female, 96% are white British, and the majority are in the age group 40-60.
The whole community in Clevedon and outlying areas will benefit from the restoration project. Outreach projects (to Residential & Care Homes) will be able to continue, projects with schools and young people will be developed and the Curzon will be able to sustain staff and volunteers.
The aim of the Charity is to preserve for the benefit of the community the historic building that houses the Curzon Cinema.
