#OurLivesMatter Humanitarian Aid Project support people affected by violations of ceasefire between Indian & Pakistani armed forces across the UN mediated & monitored ceasefire line in Jammu Kashmir. Thousands of people affected many killed, injured & displaces from their home and need urgent help!

    Need

    The people of Jammu and Kashmir living across the ceasefire line (CFL) are continuously suffering from on-going hostilities and armed confrontations between Indian and Pakistani armed forces across UN-mediated and monitored ceasefire line since 1948. In recent years, these hostilities across CFL many time brought the two nuclear-armed countries on the brink of war. Consequently, the people living across CFL suffer displacement from their homes and loss of lives and livelihood.

    Solution

    #OurlivesMatter Humanitarian Aid project support internally displaced people across the ceasefire line in Jammu Kashmir by providing emergency relief in temporary shelter camps, medical aid for injured and rehabilitation support for disabled people as well supporting young people to continue their education.

    Over its lifetime, #OurlivesMatter project would help and support over 250 families through emergency relief, 300 people receive Medical aid and rehabilitation support; 500 children and young will get books and essential educational material and 150 women and young people will benefit from getting training for skills development and 100 displaced people to get back on their feet through livelihood support

    Risk

    This project is mainly focused on supporting displaced people in a highly militarised and volatile conflict-affected areas across the ceasefire line in J&K. Often access to these areas for delivering humanitarian aid is very difficult and safety and security of aid workers is a major challenge.
    We would work in partnership with local people and liaise with the district administration as much as possible to deliver a coordinated response for the emergency relief and rehabilitation support.

    Reporting

    We will regularly update our donors through #OurLivesMatter project page on our website www.kdfajk.org and social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter. We will also publish an annual project report with details of all activities and impact on beneficiaries.
