Nuture to be Healthy
We are keen to launch a pilot of providing healthy balanced meals programme for disengaged and deprived children who often do not receive a adequate healthy balanced meal.
We will provide 30 meals * 3 evenings a week to 30 children for 36 weeks
Charity information: Clapton Common Boys Club
Provide healthy nutritious balanced meals to deprived children who are lacking the basic balance.
These meals will be prepared and packaged by volunteers and cooked by a caterer, out of our community soup kitchen, benefiting 30 children p/day * 3 days p/week, 90 cyp per week. We are piloting our idea on a small scale of just 90 meals per week to see how the programme will work out. We plan to expand the service providing affordable low cost meals to many more deprived cyp and their families.
Through offering balanced meals to 90 children and young people per week, they will effectively be able to improve skills in many other areas including school and academic performance, social and communication and life skills.

To ensure that children and young people receive a balanced meal during their day
Activities» To provide meals to 90 children and young people
What success will look like
We will put a BDA system monitoring evaluation system – (before, during, after), including surveys, observation, reference from schools, baseline data and feedback forms.
Children receiving a balanced healthy meal will benefit from a healthy balanced diet, a better digestion system, increased physical ability and improve academic ability. They will be able to sleep better and therefore face a better day at school, with improved performance and education outcomes.
Low level of beneficiaries - we are aware of many more than 90 children who need our services
Low level of volunteers - we have a back up team of volunteers as well as we could recruit a couple of workers if need be
Lack of funds - we have pledges promised from a couple of donors who will support the programme should the need arise

Deprived, disengaged and disadvantaged children and young people
We will accept referrals from schools/ sencos to identify the first 90 children who will benefit from the programme.
We are best placed to deliver these services as we have a strong reputation for our work with young people, children and stakeholders. We envisage our activities will be successful in leading to project outcomes.
