Critical Care Car
No one ever knows when a call is going to come in. But we do know that people in our community need our Critical Care Team both day and night. Right now our helicopters don’t fly at night.. It’s not how we get there that’s important; it’s that we get there. Most people do not realise this.
Charity information: Great Western Air Ambulance Charity
Each year the Critical Care Team attends two thirds of our work via our Critical Care Cars. They are an essential part of our operations; the ambulance service has previously always funded the cars however this has now been cut. It is up to us to front the costs needed to be able to continue our operations via our two Critical Care Cars.
The funding of the Critical Care Cars will allow us to continue to deliver our vital lifesaving work when the helicopter is unavailable or unsuitable.

What success will look like
Our success will be demonstrated by the introduction of modern Critical Care Cars for our Critical Care Team to use.
We will be able continue to save lives within our local community.
We will demonstrate the success by continuing to monitor our patient data ensuring that we use the most appropriate method of transport.
Donors to this project will receive communications targeted to the work we do on our Critical Care Cars:
They will hear the stories of former patients who have been attended by the Critical Care Team via the cars and any statistics related to the usage.

We respond to patients that need us throughout Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire and surrounding counties.
Every day, people in our area face sudden, drastic medical emergencies, and traumatic injuries; many of these people need help as soon as possible. Simply put, without the right care at the right time, people lose their lives from critical injuries and illnesses.
We are the only provider of Critical Care and an air ambulance service in the areas which we cover therefore there is no other alternative organisation to carry out this project.
