New student bathrooms and volunteer facilities
After nine years, the bathrooms of our students need a complete overhaul (incl. new piping, boilers, water tanks).
In addition, we recently signed up with an international organisation that will place volunteers with EEF for who we need to build an extension to be able to provide accommodation.

After nine years, our student bathrooms need a complete update. Pipes are leaking which has caused many problems and we can currently just apply temporary fixes. Our boilers are failing regularly resulting in lack of hot water which is particularly hard for our students during the cold and wet summer evenings. Many of our toilets are broken, which makes cleaning much harder which may result in hygiene issues over time if not taken care of. Regular temporary fixes are eating into our budge
We are hoping to install new boilers, water tanks, toilets and shower facilities for our students which enables them to leader a cleaner and healthier life.
As we will already be opening up walls and changing pipe works, we will also take the opportunity to install an additional guest bathroom for paying volunteers. These private facilities will allow us to attract more paying volunteers to stay with us in Addis Ababa.

Our great success is that we already have over 65 students who have been with us through high school and university and are now starting their careers assisting Ethiopia in its progress towards development. To date we have helped 16 individuals who are now fully qualified medical doctors and 40+ individuals who are in the engineering field, the remainder have qualified in accountancy, economics, pharmacy and architecture.
EEF has an outstanding record - 100% university acceptance.
Local issues – dealing with the local work culture can often be challenging
