Maintaining Our Home Away From Home
Maintaining the level of comfort and support families in need require and deserve is our main priority. There are always improvements to be made and every penny we raise goes towards ensuring our home away from home is a safe, calm and enjoyable place to be.

Maintaining our house is a continual issue. We receive no statutory funding and have to raise all of our annual running costs ourselves. We hope that raising our desired target through the big give will give us the opportunity to target some of our larger projects such as replacing flooring and updating the communal kitchen areas.
This extra boost of funding will make a big difference to ensuring we can update and improve our home away from home. It will aid us in ensuring that RMHB continues to be a place of comfort and support for families in need.
Maintaining our home away from home
Activities» Improve the bedroom and communal areas through necessary replacements and repairs including replacing flooring and updating the kitchen.
What success will look like
Success will be improved facilities for the families that use our house.
The project will ensure the improvement of the house, enabling us to continue providing the level of comfort families need and deserve during their stay. This will be measured by the longevity of the changes made. For example, once the flooring has been replaced we would hope it to last another 15 years.
We believe their are no risks to this project.
We will offer donors the chance to come and see the improvements made and the effect on the house. Photographs will also be used in our newsletter as well as on social media.

Our house is situated in central Bristol within extremely close proximity to the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children so families are never far away from their loved ones.
The families that stay with us will be the beneficiaries of this project. Providing a safe and comfortable space for them is our main priority. We have families come and stay from all over the South West free of charge. The length of time they stay can range from a couple of days to a couple of years and we aim for our house to feel like a home away from home.
As an independent charity who receive no statutory funding we have to raise all of our annual running costs ourselves. Our accommodation is provided to families free of charge giving them one less thing to worry about. It is up to us to ensure the house is maintained to an excellent level to ensure all the families who stay with us get the level of comfort and support necessary in such a difficult time in their lives.
