Ruddi's Retreat I and Ruddi's Retreat II are full and oversubscribed. We desperately need to purchase a third respite provision to enable us to help more families receive a respite break at a time when they so desperately need it.

    Need

    Ruddi's Retreat owns and operates two respite caravans which are both currently oversubscribed. The demand for the caravans has become that huge recently that we have had to split each week into two so that our service users can either have a four day mid week break or a three day weekend break.

    Solution

    We plan to raise enough money to be able to purchase a third caravan thus enabling us to increase the number of families we can help by 50%.

    We will demonstrate the success by allocating more holidays to more families each year.

    Purchase a third caravan.

    » Promote Ruddi's Retreat to anyone and everyone and hopefully get them on board with each and every one of our fundraising events.

    What success will look like

    We will purchase and then promote the new caravan via social media and in the local newspaper.

    To carry on providing the best service possible for as long as possible.

    Our families feed back to us and to our supporters with how a holiday from us has changed things for them.


  • Impact

    Impact

    Our project will bring huge long term changes to the charity. The amount of people we would be able to help will be huge and that will make a massive impact on the charity as a whole.

    Risk

    The risks will be that we are unable to raise the funds needed to purchase the third caravan. We will deal with this risk by increasing our fundraising efforts and perhaps approach a private investor.

    Reporting

    We will write to all donors individually and invite them to a meeting with the committee and trustees.

    Location

    The location of the project is to be confirmed. The project is currently based at Primrose Valley in Filey but we may look to change the site to cater for all requirements.

    Beneficiaries

    Children and their families living with cancer and life limiting illnesses or coping with the bereavement of a loved one.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

    Our charity has been in existence for six years now and we have what we do down to a fine art. The number of families that we have assisted since setting up is huge and we are only just scratching the surface. We receive emails and cards on a weekly basis thanking us for the help we have given them.
