This project will encourage children and parents in local communities in London to collaborate and work together on projects. This will build a better community in a safer environment for children who have nowhere else to go during the long Summer holidays when the schools are closed.
We aim to give these children a safe space, environment to be together in whilst creating inspiring projects in the arts and photography. This will create positivity , confidence and working together as a team.

» This workshop is designed to give freedom for the children by exloring their emotions through writing prose and poetry releasing this through drama

    What success will look like

The children/students will be invited to perform their final show at our annual Exhibition and private view at the end of September to express their work during this course.

  • Impact

Long term we aim to be able to have our own centre on a permanent basis to be able to give children access to our courses all year around. Giving after-school workshops, holiday workshops and Week-end workshops in all the arts giving these children a privilege that they should always be entitled to. Giving them life long skills to take on their journey to adulthood, ensuring they will have the confidence and skills that they otherwise may not ever have the opportunity to learn.

The only risks that we have that could influence the succes of this project is that we do not have the funds to make them happen.
There are no other risks. We have worked with schools in London in after school projects and at our gallery in Queens Crescent last Summer which was a huge success, we continue our work in this community which is growing by the day. If we make the fundraising happen we can make it work. We have the tutors, the skills and the courses written and available.

We will report all activities and keep informed weekly by emails and on our page here in the Big Give by uploading works and pictures during and after the workshops and sessions.
We will case study and write down improvements after each and every session and detail students progress.

  • Background

The Location will be held in two boroughs, one being Camden at our gallery in Queens Crescent and the other being Deptford Pepys Estate in pop up gallery to support the young people keeping them away from the lure of gangs and crime . We are increasing our work due to our success with our art projects. I would like to continue the work in the area of Queens Crescent to hold arts and photography courses to nuture and inspire young children from this social background.

Over 300 children aged between 5 and 18 years old will benefit from this project supporting under funded local schools with our art projects teaching, inspiring this generation who is much in need of nurture and support. We will be able to support over 15 schools from both boroughs and supporting children for our summer holiday courses in the arts and photography giving these children a gateway to the arts in which they would never have the opportunity to explore.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

Our charity is best placed to carry out this project as already established our selves within Camden and London and have proven to support schools already with after-school classes, building arts partnerships with private sector to support the state and underprivileged sector. We have two case studies which are proving our work with children is validated and above all giving them a better start in life. We have the huge success of our last Summer Arts Project and want to replicate our success.

This will pay for a young person to attend a full term after school course for arts/ photography

We have never had access to such excellent arts programmes in this area giving free courses in the arts, photography and media to our young people. The arts foundation and Debbi have given our young people a chance to grow, be inspired and been given skills they did not know even existed.
