The Invisible Talent Pool
Astriid (Available Skills for Training, Refreshing, Improvement, Innovation & Development) is an online job matching service that connects those suffering long term illness (the invisible talent pool) with businesses that need talented individuals either on a paid or voluntary basis.
Charity information: ASTRiiD
We are seeking to raise money to support the promotion and maintenance of our operations. This will allow us to reach both individuals suffering long term chronic illness and undergoing treatment for this but who are still able to carry out limited work.
We are seeking financial support from businesses and individuals sympathetic to this issue. We will publicise our cause through direct contact, our email lists and through promotional events.
To raise money to support Astriid's promotional activities
Activities» Promote our campaign online through social media and email lists
» Promote our campaign offline through TV, Radio Speaking, Promo events, and Offline donations
What success will look like
By the amount of money that we are able to raise and by the number of individual donations.
Astriid will help those with long-term illness to find work that fits with their treatment regimes (eg part-time, interim, limited hours, etc.).
It will also change the way people think about employment for those with long-term illness. By alerting employers to the 'Invisible Talent pool' of those with skills who are compromised through their treatment but who can still offer their skills and experience to employers.
The risks are: 1. Not raising enough money to support our promotions/running costs etc. 2. Not getting enough employers and candidates to commit sufficiently to the project's purpose. 3. Not getting enough actual people employed so as to prove the concept is a great solution to a major and growing problem, and whereby it can stand on it's own feet.
We are dealing with these risks by highly qualified recruiting volunteers to manage each of them through both technical and advisory support.
Donors will will be informed on a regular basis on the amount raised, what is being done and achieved with that money raised and general progress of the charity.

The project does not have a specific physical location as such. Rather it is organised remotely (digitally) by the Founder and CEO from their personal home addresses.
The main beneficiaries of the project will be those who find (or are looking for) work while undergoing treatment for a long-term illness (eg those who can't take normal employment due to the physically compromising nature of their treatment). Also, employers will benefit by being able to recruit appropriately skilled people on either a part-time or full-time basis.
No other charity is specifically focused on the cause of helping those attempting to secure work while undergoing compromising and disruptive treatment for their condition. Astriid is uniquely placed to carry out this project.
