  • Need

To engage young people in positive activities during the summer period. To attract young people and reduce social isolation during the long summer period. To avoid young people engaging in negative and risky behavior and committing anti social behavior. To engage young people to improve themselves and others through team work, creativity, planning and problem solving, leading and solving and taking on challenges and risks to build self confidence, self motivation and self esteem.

Through opening the doors of the youth center from 11am to 8pm and capturing the various age groups within the area. By organising good themed activities, day trips and residentials that will attract people to the project and keep them engaged. By creating a programme that meets the needs of young people and delivering them to the highest expectations possible. By organising a community fun day that will engage parents and the community to support the project and make referrals to the project.

    What success will look like

The numbers registered, daily attendance register, numbers participating in activities, trips and residentials and feedback from participants.

  • Impact

To see a reduction in anti-social behaviour during the summer period, a reduction in the number of young people involving themselves in negative and risky behaviour and this can be evidenced in the local steering group meetings of residents and voluntary organisaitons.

The high demand for a limited space in activities, trips and resdientals.
We will hire a good amount of staff so that off site trip can be arranged when numbers are high, use local parks spaces, playgrounds, and pitches to ease of the pressure on the centre. We could run out of materials and not have enough equipment during our project, or even run out of food during the community fun day. We will have planned to increase our resources, equipment and food by 10% based on previous levels.

Using the report format given to us on paper, or online or we will present an end of project report highlighting the whole programme and providing statistical data on participants.

The area also has one of the highest concentration of young people in London and has the highest rate of child poverty and obesity.

Young people aged 8-19 years of age and young adults that have Special Educational Needs (SEN), Learning Difficulties and Disabilities (LDD). The sessions will be split into two age groups 8-12 year olds 11am to 3pm and 13-19 year olds and upto 25 if thay are SEN and have LDD £pm to 8pm.
