Reoffending The history of many of those serving sentences is one of social and financial exclusion. Typically, those we work with have never had a positive male role model and have lived in areas suffering from long-term generational unemployment. The lack of education and limited experience of paid employment when coupled with a prison record militates against finding a job.
We train them and find an opportunity to go into employment.
We hope to break the cycle of reoffending .
We know from our programme that the offenders we have worked with will be more capable of becoming socially integrated into his local community. They will have a more positive and driven outlook, lessen the chances of being discriminated against, become financially independent and be a positive role model to their families and communities.
Our work is not designed to be a short term solution, but to break the cycle of re-offending
Activities» We have been successful in winning a number of painting and decorating contracts with local churches and estates - we will train 12 offenders
We have a monitoring system in place
Our beneficiaries (‘Oswinners’) will be trained on site. They will have the opportunity to learn a trade, can gain a qualification and develop a range of soft skills. We will then monitor how they use these skills and work with local agencies to monitor their offending behaviour post release.
We have a track record of working with HMP Northumberland and have developed a risk management procedure .
We will use our website and provide case studies on our experience
