Leading Autism Campaigner Anna Kennedy OBE, in association with Pineapple Performing Arts, presents Autism’s Got Talent – May 2018 at The Mermaid Theatre, London. As part of her ongoing campaign to support children and adults with autism.

    Need

    Although this project It received mass media attention, it requires so much funding that as a small charity we struggle and would like to offer sponsorship opportunities and collaboration with partners to continue this. With more than 500,000 people diagnosed with autism in the UK it is easy to simply label these people. The Autism’s Got Talent event is one of the ways of recognising that ability and will showcase the performing talents of a whole host of talent.

    Solution

    Unlike other talent shows the evening will have many surprises and delights as children and adults showcase and perform before a live audience. Although this project It received mass media attention, it requires so much funding. This star studded spectacular event will showcase amazingly talented performances by adults and children with autism. The performers, will fly the flag for autism and show what people with autism are capable of.

    Autism’s Got Talent provides a platform and great opportunity to replace negative aspects with hope, fun, laughter and inclusion. This showcase is unique to any other projects across the world. Most of the acts have spring boarded into exclusive opportunities and the audience feel a rare emotion of hope and belonging and part of a unique network and understanding that anything is possible.

    Risk

    Like other talent shows the evening will have many surprises and delights as children and adults showcase and perform before a live audience. The team manage this every year and there are no risks

    We will give communication updates at every stage of the process and ensure that each stage has full involvement.

    Location

    Mermaid Theatre, Puddle Dock, London EC4V 3DB an is held here every year.

    Beneficiaries

    In previous years there has been a stand-up performer, harpist, rappers, young author, acclaimed ballet dancer, opera singers as well as a bone breaker, who is now the face of Calvin Klein. Most of the acts have spring boarded into exclusive opportunities and the audience feel a rare emotion of hope and belonging and part of a unique network and understanding that anything is possible. The audience are filled with joy and form great friendships as well as the performers and networking.

    Why Us?

    The Autism’s Got Talent event is one of the ways of recognising that ability and will showcase the performing talents of a whole host of talent. Describing the event Anna Kennedy said. “This is a great opportunity for those with autism to get up on stage and really show what they can do. So often society views these people as difficult and uncommunicative but this event will really dispel that myth with some fantastic talent on display.”

    Recognising the uniqueness of those with autism Anna Kennedy, who has two sons and has worked tirelessly to find ways of celebrating Autism

    Lisa Robins / PA And Event Manager

    Lisa coordinates and leads every year and ensures that the performers are fully relaxed and that all expectations are exceeded

    Tally Nothey / Volunteer

    Tally creates/designs the program and pull ups every year and to also ensure that working with the team of volunteers that every year is a success

    Jo Wiggins / Volunteer

    Jo and her son Ryan ensure that performers and families are well looked after. Ryan was on of the AGT acts previously and is now a talented Patron
