Many families on low income are struggling to keep up with rental increases. They are being given notice on their homes and finding themselves with nowhere to go. Some are forced to move from the area and others find themselves homeless through no fault of their own.

    Many families on low income are struggling to keep up with rental increases. They are being given notice on their homes and finding themselves with nowhere to go. Some are forced to move from the area and others find themselves homeless through no fault of their own.

    Solution

    They property will be a stopgap for homeless and vulnerable families who currently can not make ends meet and do not have access to any other funds. We can provide temporary accommodation, giving them time to get back on their feet. The average stay for a family is expected to be one year.

  • Impact

    Impact

    Housing management measures. This conversion project to deliver six, two bedroom flats will directly improve the quality of service we are able to provide to our clients, supporting them to rebuild their lives. Your contribution would go towards helping an estimated 150 people over the next six years.

    Risk

    There are no unforeseen issues as everything has been covered in depth.

    Reporting

    Provide progress reports including photos of the property once furnished. Organise a site visit at a suitable time if required. Provide invoices and end of grant reports as required.

    Location

    Even in an affluent area such as Surrey, there are homeless people living in tents or vehicles and even sleeping on the streets. During the winter, this can lead to serious health problems and can even be fatal.

    The money that Transform invests in fundraising is classified in the charity accounts as business expenditure. Fundraising expenses are not set against donations. This means that donors can rest assured that their entire gift will benefit people who find themselves in a vulnerable position in society.
