  • Need

    Need

We have an established middle school in Patehra village which is served by three of our primary schools – Patehra, Amoi and Hasra. This middle school is very successful, but only a limited number of the class 8 children are able to continue to our secondary school at Guria because of the travel distance and capacity. We consequently turn away many good pupils every year who would really benefit from continuing with us into secondary school.

    Solution

The new secondary school extension will take classes 9 and 10 which would allow us to admit more intermediate pupils and give the children capable of reaching secondary level a chance to achieve their full potential.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To give more children an opportunity to reach secondary school

    Activities

» Establish a new secondary school in Patehra village, India

The overall success of this project will be measured by the number of children who qualify for Class 11 at Guria Boarding School

  • Impact

    Impact

It will enable gifted children in this remote area of India to reach their full potential and so obtain a higher paid job to help their families out of poverty.

    Risk

The biggest risk is that we will not be able to attract the quality of teachers to this remote area. We are incorporating in the building project some residential accommodation for the teaching staff which will provide comfortable facilities free of charge.

    Reporting

Donors will receive a regular update on the progress of this project through newsletters.
