Let's Light Up Our Courts
We have embarked on a project to replace the lighting of our 3 tennis courts here at Folkestone Sports Centre.
The 'Let's Light Up Our Courts' project is aimed at running new and exciting programs at night.
August 2017 - December 2017
Charity information: Folkestone Sports Centre Trust Ltd
We have recently refurbished our tennis courts and all that is left is to replace the lighting that no longer works.
As it will involve more than just replacing a light bulb, we need help raising the funds to get our courts ready for the early winter evenings.
Achieving our 'Let's Light Up Our Courts' project goal will allow us to fully light all three courts and increase its hours of availability in the evening and in the winter.

What success will look like
With the success of our 'Light Up Our Courts' project we will be able to fully light all three courts in the evenings.
By adding lights it would allow us to increase the courts hours of availability in the evening and winter months. This will enable us to offer more programs to our customers and the community.
The major risk to the success of this project is that of money. If we cannot raise enough to cover the costs, we simply cannot afford to complete it. To cut costs, we will have our maintenance team handle all of the labour involved in the project. By doing this we will reduce costs greatly, leaving just the costs for the materials.
The progress of this project will be updated through our websites home page.

The tennis courts of Folkestone Sports Centre are located to the west of the main building, on the Multi Use Games Area (MUGA). The centre is charity owned and run, serving the local community since 1968 and officially being opened by Princess Anne in July 1972.
Having the courts hours of availability will benefit people of all ages. From tennis for tots to adult social tennis, we aim to get involve all ages in a multitude of programs so that we can offer something for everyone.
It's part of our centre and more importatly, part of our community.
