Endow a Day of Music at Worcester Cathedral

There has been a choir at the Cathedral for over 1,000 years. A day in the calendar year may be endowed for £10,000 to help us maintain and ensure the future of this unique choral tradition. Your words of dedication are announced each year during the evening service.

It is ongoing

Music making at Worcester Cathedral costs £300,000 per year. We receive no statutory state funding and rely on donations to provide the music for the weekday services, concerts, radio broadcasts and the training of choral and organ scholars.

Donations help us to support music at Worcester Cathedral.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide music at Worcester Cathedral and train organ and choral scholars

» The choir supports the services, concerts, radio broadcasts and trains young musicians to a professional standard.

    What success will look like

Success is demonstrated by the provision of music at Worcester Cathedral and the notable success of our alumni organ and choral scholars.

  • Impact

Giving to music at Worcester Cathedral will secure its future.

Insufficient funding would prevent us from training choristers. It currently costs around £5,500 per year for each chorister.

We write to our donors twice every year and invite them to the Cathedral.

A day of music may be endowed and dedicated to a loved one, or in celebration of an event or person

Having spent my life, with absences, in the shadow of the Cathedral, having been born close to it and having come back as a truant to die under its shadow, nothing would give me greater happiness than to know that its future improvement was assured.
