Charity information: Worcester Cathedral
Worcester Cathedral is one of England's most beautiful cathedrals and its treasures include King John's Tomb, Prince Arthur's Chantry, a 12th century Chapter House and Crypt, medieval cloisters and Library and magnificent stained glass. There has been a choir for over 1,000 years and we train young musicians, masons and librarians and offer an award winning education programme for schools, colleges and adults. Admission is free and we receive no statutory state funding so rely on donations.

What success will look like
Charitable income is listed in the Cathedral's Annual Report and Accounts.
It will build an endowment fund from which only the income is used which will secure the Cathedral's long term future.
The risks would be the deterioration of the historic fabric and treasures as a result of insufficient finances to maintain them.
We write to donors twice every year and invite them to visit the Cathedral.

Having spent my life, with absences, in the shadow of the Cathedral, having been born close to it and having come back as a truant to die under its shadow, nothing would give me greater happiness than to know that its future improvement was assured.
