Sponsor a Stone on the Edgar Tower

The Edgar Tower is one of Worcester's oldest structures. This impressive gateway stands on the site of an earlier gateway ordered by King John in 1204. It is listed in Historic England's 'Heritage at Risk' register.

    We need to raise £250,000 to complete the restoration of the stone work of the Edgar Tower, which is listed in the 'Heritage at RIsk' register.

    Solution

    Once restored, the Edgar Tower can be permanently removed from the Risk Register for future generations to enjoy.

    Worcester Cathedral is a vibrant community which has served the city and the diocese of Worcester since the Seventh Century. It attracts over 300,000 visitors each year from all over the world. As a top 10 Heritage City and ranked as England’s safest city, Worcester is a favourite destination for tourists and families and was recently voted in the top 5 of England's most cultural cities. In 2017, the Cathedral was voted in the top 10 of the UK’s free to visit tourist
    attractions.

Sponsor a Stone on Edgar Tower from £50

Stonemasons will engrave your chosen initials onto a stone, you receive a certificate with up to 30 words of your dedication, a photograph of your stone and a diagram of where it will be placed on the Tower. Many people buy them as presents or in memory of loved ones.
