  • Need

Providing a shelter and support to rough sleepers during cold weather periods.

Funding for cold weather provision allows us to cover the additional support costs incurred by providing shelter and support to an increased number of clients during this period.

Outreach workers engage with rough sleepers both on the streets and when they come into the hostels, to find suitable long term support and accommodation.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To offer shelter and support for rough sleepers during the winter months.

» Provide additional emergency overnight bed spaces by utilising communal areas of the hostels during winter months.
» Provide additional outreach support for rough sleepers to get them support and accommodation.

    What success will look like

By identify the clients who access our services via the cold weather provision and records of outreach work with rough sleepers.

  • Impact

Long term aim to reduce the number of rough sleepers in the local area.
We will be able to produce statistics relating to the number of people helped off of the streets and outcomes regarding their welfare and how they have moved on from the project.

Not having enough space to accommodate everyone trying to access the project each night. We work with other local agencies to find alternative suitable support. We give food, drink and clean, dry sleeping equipment to rough sleepers who do not enter the project.

Provide statistics at the end of the period to demonstrate the impact of the project. Report in newsletter and annual review.
