  • Need

    Need

So much of the material available to children that is in a style they can relate to has harmful content. There is very little pop music with a current sound that children really love , but with helpful lyrics.

Music taught in schools with religious content tends to be out of date and doesn't necessarily connect with the children.

In addition we feel communities are much in need of positive projects which bring them together in unity.

    Solution

iSingPOP offers the alternative giving singing and recording opportunities in schools across the UK to children of all backgrounds. The difference is that the specially written songs provide wholesome content looking at topics such as caring for the wider world, love, friendship, hope etc. Week long projects in primary schools with a singing tutor, a recording engineer and a family concert at the end of the week in the local church, provide fun, memorable experiences for everyone involved.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To offer music to children of all backgrounds in primary schools with wholesome & suitable content.

    Activities

» To do this by running week long projects across the UK for schools, where the children can sing and record the specially written iSingPOP songs.
» To organise fun family concerts in local churches with professional equipment where the children can perform the songs complete with dance routines.

We have constant feed back from schools, parents and churches and we ask schools to fill in feedback forms to monitor progress. The project is also monitored by the trustees.

    Aim 2

To positively affect communities as a result of the projects in difficult and troubled times.

    Activities

» The combination of the iSingPOP schools week and the concert in the church unites the community, whilst celebrating the achievements of the children.

Again from letters sent from pupils, parents, teachers and church workers who have experienced the impact of the project first hand.

  • Impact

    Impact

We leave the songs in the form of backing tracks for the schools to use after the project has finished. They are always really keen to continue the use of the material. We stay in touch with schools and arrange re visits and also get feedback as to the long term effect the project has had on the school, the church and the area in general. On many occasions we hear of the iSingPOP songs being used on all sorts of occasions because of their positive impact.

    Risk

The project is relatively expensive to run therefore we run a continuous fundraising operation to sustain the income required to keep the project going. There is also a current risk of being over booked due to the projects popularity, hence the need for more funds and more staff. Again this comes back to the reliance on effective fundraising strategy.

    Reporting

We regularly report to donors by regular emails, by newsletters in the post at Christmas (along with Christmas cards) and through visits in person where appropriate.
