To provide year long art club, holiday workshops in various art forms and shows for children.

    Lack of art provision in schools, and paucity of other opportunities to be creative.

    Solution

    It will provide a low cost opportunity for children to experience the full range of the arts and engage actively and creatively.

  • Impact

    Impact

    More children engaging in the arts after the project finishes or going onto further study. Monitor attendances subsequently and follow up on those who go onto further study.

    The main risk would be lack of funding otherwise it is a straightforward project to run.

    Photographs and report of activities as year progresses.

  • Background

    Location

    The Ucheldre Centre is located in the middle of Community First Wards which mean that they are amongst the most deprived areas in Wales.

    Holyhead is also at the furtherest reaches of Wales on an Island so in a remote position with few facilities available. Ucheldre is the only arts centre on the Island.

    Local children and visiting children on holiday.
