  • Need

    Need

A proportion of our local community is unable to get into our office to access our advice service.
They may have caring responsibilities (young children, sick, disabled, elderly), which limits the time available to deal with any issues they have.
They may have limited access to transport. The access they have taking them to GP appointments or maybe the Day Centre.

    Solution

Offering an outreach advice service at a venue they visit regularly e.g. the local day centre, the GP surgery or the childrens centre.
Thus ensuring they can get access to the advice they need to deal with the problems they face.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Access to Advice to deal with issues you face at Outreach Locations

    Activities

» Set up advice sessions at outreach locations - GP surgery, Day Centre, Childrens Centre on a regular basis.

Regular drop in sessions and appointments at outreach locations.

  • Impact

    Impact

Increase access to advice to ensure:
-income is maximised - entitlement to benefits checked
-help and support needed to improve daily life is accessed
-debt repayments are realistic and manageable
    -fair treatment
Hard and soft outcomes will be recorded - hard - increase in money, reduction in debt repayments, food parcels. Soft - feel good factors - talking to someone - getting an action plan.

    Risk

Availability of Advisers to provide service - potential on ad-hoc basis to use suitably qualified volunteer advisers with back up from main office.
Clients unable to return to outreach - dependent on the clients situation, home visits from main office can be arranged.
Secure internet access - RAS Security key to be obtained.

    Reporting

Six monthly email report - including numbers accessing service at each outreach venue.
