  • Need

    Need

To face a life-limiting illness from diagnosis to the end of life can be a daunting, stressful, painful, isolating and deeply emotional journey. Too many people in our community are not receiving the care they want or need at the end of their life.

    Solution

We will provide the services to improve patients’ quality of life and wellbeing, helping each individual live as fully as they can to the end of their lives, however long that may be. It is our belief that every life matters right up until the moment a person dies and that no one should die in pain when it can be avoided, or alone, if they do not want to, regardless of whether their suffering is physical, emotional or spiritual.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide free, expert care and support to adults living with life limiting illnesses.

    Activities

» To provide an effective Day Hospice for those with life-limiting illnesses
» To provide a family support service for the families of those with a life-limiting illness
» To provide a chaplaincy service to cater for the spiritual needs of those facing a life-limiting illness and their families

Those referred to the hospice will access the care they need free-of-charge. All equipment and resources will be up-to-date and the staff will be caring and well trained.

  • Impact

    Impact

Our vision is for everyone facing the end of life, whoever they are and wherever they might be, to have the best possible care and we believe our hospice care is critical to achieving this in North Worcestershire

    Risk

    1) The lack of funding from other sources would influence the success of this project. This has been dealt with by employing expert fundraisers to ensure the source of funding is constant.

    2) Our well trained staff leaving. This has been dealt with by putting in a place a successful recruitment policy and training programme.

    Reporting
