Suite 109 - A Charity Shop with a Difference

Peterson's Fund for Children has recently opened a pre-loved dancewear, drama and theatre wear and fancy dress shop that is taking Surrey by storm. Filled with over 4000 items, our shop fills a niche that services our local community in a variety of much-needed ways. We want to take it further!

It will be ongoing

  • Need

Our shop is currently only satisfying the needs of our local community and we feel that it could be taken much further to serve everyone everywhere. We do not have the ability for selling online and we feel that would enhance our exposure and ability to raise funds. In addition, the shop is in need of some much needed enhancements to improve its presence and, due to few volunteers, we are only open one day a week. Some paid employees would help us to increase our hours and earning potential

With funds raised through our project, we can pay someone to get our shop online and help with marketing, we could pay some workers to increase our opening hours and we could use the funds to upgrade the facility and make it more conducive and attractive to our customers.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Set up an buying website for our shop and increase marketing to help with advertising

» Have a dress up running race, where all participants are required to participate in fancy dress or accessory (purchased from our shop)

    What success will look like

The website will be easily accessible and visible to the public

    Aim 2

Hire employees so we can have more open hours for business

» Be a sponsor of a local dance show or drama production, to raise funds to pay employees

    What success will look like

We will be open for more days/hours than just Sundays

    Aim 3

Spend some money refurbishing our space to make it more appealing to customers

» Participate in local fairs and fetes, selling fancy dress in order to raise funds for refurbishment

    What success will look like

When customers come to visit our shop, they will see how beautiful our warehouse has become

  • Impact

Once Suite 109 is online, open more hours and is more appealing, we should see a marked increase in sales and therefore funds available to our charity. This growth should continue through the years as our exposure and stock grows.

    There are no risks

We would report to donors via our website and our monthly newsletter
