Charity information: First Steps Women's Centre
FSWC relies on funding from the Dept of Economy to run our project . We also have to secure funding from other public & private sectors to “Match Fund” the project. It is this “Match Funding” that dictates our budget each year of the project. Since 2012 we have been experiencing government cuts imposed on the community & voluntary sector and are having to turn to the private sector to bridge the gap. We are finding this extremely difficult due to the levels of competition from other charities.
FSWC strives to remove the barriers that prevent women from achieving their personal goals by providing transport and onsite childcare while they avail of our academic & Wellbeing courses. These include Essential Skills Literacy & Numeracy, Sage Accounts & Payroll, Personal Development, Vocational Studies and ESOL which is in huge demand in our area.
