Twinkle House Sensory Rooms Rennovation

Twinkle House supports children who suffer from physical or mental disabilities, behavioural and learning difficulties and various forms of mental health issues. We offer a safe, therapeutic learning environment with tailored 1:1 sensory-based support. Our project is to refurbish our sensory rooms.

Refurbishment would likely take 1-2 months.

  • Need

Our two main sensory rooms are in desperate need of upgrading and our sensory equipment is almost 15 years old. We currently have a signficiant waiting list of children who would like to access our support and we feel we could greatly improve the impact and speed of results of our sensory techniques if we were able to ustilitse additional fixtures and equipment and reshape and expand the space where our 1-1 sessions take place.

We believe refurbishment will help to create a more stimulating environment and drive even more effective results allowing us to have a greater reach and impact on those who have little,if any comparable support available to them.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To reshape and expand our existing sensory space to allow us to extend our reach and impact.

    » Building and refurbishment work

    What success will look like

Through an increase in the number of children able to access and benefit from our improved support facilities.

  • Impact

Our long term aims are to arm children with the necessary life skills to integrate into Society, to build positive relationships and to be able to self support long after they have left us. We demonstrate these skills and improvements through the use of detailed, tailored personal plans with clearly defined aims and objectives and with frequent outcome reveiws. We will also demonstrate our effectiveness through review of direct feedback from service users.

We have a proven track record and direct feedback from families tells us that our techniques work. Enhancing our facilities will allow us to continue and expand on this. There are no deemed risks to the success of the project.

We will report our progress on our website, other social media avenues and also through our annual report. We will invite donors to visit our site to see and hear about our successes.
