Rainbow House Kitchen Appeal

After almost a decade of use the kitchen at our Exeter Rainbow House is looking tired, old and in need of some TLC! The kitchen is important as it helps tenants develop life skills so we are now fundraising so we can upgrade equipment, reorganise space and the flow to meet their changing needs.

  • Need

Over the last 10 years the kitchen in our Exeter Rainbow House has been very well used but it’s now in need of a refurb. We need to replace and update the kitchen, to upgrade equipment, reorganise the space and make some adaptations to the flow of the room to meet our tenants’ changing and developing needs.

One of our key aims is to encourage tenants to develop life skills, helping them to gain in confidence and a new kitchen suited to their current needs will really help us to achieve this!

It will enable the five tenants at the Exeter Rainbow House to have a new, bespoke kitchen which is modern and updated with their own physical and emotional developments in mind to facilitate further supported independent living.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To update and replace the current kitchen which is now a bit old and tired and not fit for purpose.

» We will undertake fundraising across a broad spectrum of activities, including a social media campaign.

    What success will look like

By raising enough funds to be able to install a new kitchen which is more fit for purpose for current and future needs of the disabled young tenants living at the house.

  • Impact

It will help to future proof the Exeter Rainbow House, making it more suitable for the tenants of the house for many years to come. It will also help our tenants continue to develop key life skills such as cooking and cleaning in their own home as a new kitchen will be more suited to their current needs and requirements.

Lack of funds to undertake the work. The charity would continue to fundraise to achieve the outcome of the project.

We will report to donors by thanking them for their donations, providing updates on fundraising, project developments and finally celebrating the success of achieving the project.

  • Background

The Exeter Rainbow House is located in Whipton, on the outskirts of the city where it has been occupied for almost 10 years.

The five tenants at our Exeter Rainbow House (as well as their support workers) will directly benefit from the project.

A new kitchen which has been designed with their current needs and requirements in mind will help to further develop confidence and encourage usage. They will be very enthusiastic about joining in to help redecorate!

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

We are best placed to carry out this project because we know our accommodation projects and our tenants better than anyone else! We know what our tenants current needs are and just how much they would benefit from a new kitchen.
