Joey's Legacy Kennel Premises Appeal
We are a charity dedicated to helping dogs in need. But as of yet we don't have our own premises. We rely on using private boarding kennels and a database of foster homes. We are trying to raise funds to purchase our own premises to enable us to help rescue, rehabilitate and rehome a lot more dogs
Approx 1 year
Charity information: Joey's Legacy Boxer Rescue Liverpool
We as of yet we don't have our own premises. We rely on boarding kennels to board our dogs until they find homes which can be very expensive and means we are less hands on with the dogs due to not having access to them 24/7. Boarding kennels are also very expensive as we have to pay per dog per night, which means we can only take in a small amount of dogs.
Having our own premises means we will be able to help a lot more dogs, we will have access to our dogs 24/7 meaning we can spend a lot more time with them, assessing them to ensure they find the right homes, we can do on site training with dogs who need behavioural work, we will be able to monitor dogs 24/7 which is essential for ill and injured dogs. We also have many volunteer enquiries from people wanting to offer their free time to work voluntarily to help the dogs in our care.

What success will look like
Success will be being able to rescue and rehome a lot more dogs and provide them with better care and training
Our project will enable more dogs to be saved from being put to sleep. We take in dogs from council pounds and are approached to take in dogs with behavioural issues but with no facilities to give training we cant take them in, many are put to sleep. With our own premises we can save these dogs and provide training. We will be able to offer volunteer opportunities and Work experience to high school/college students. We will demonstrate the success by monitoring how many more dogs we take in
The volatility in property prices could influence the success of the project as could interest rates and planning legislation. We have taken professional advice regarding the types of property that would be suitable, and at all stages of the project we would ensure that we obtained the best information available to ensure the project is a success. Our treasurer is a qualified management accountant who will complete the financial appraisal for the project.
