  • Need

    Need

    Combatting social exclusion
Reaching out to the elderly most at risk of isolation, ill health and poor mental health
Providing a mechanism of support for the elderly with physical disabilities.
Providing much needed escort support for those on wheelchairs or suffering from dementia to attend the celebration
Recognising the needs of the elderly with physical and mental issues
We will increase positivity and increase health and well being as most elderly are unable to get out and about

    Solution

Providing the elderly support of getting together to celebrate the festive season which might not otherwise be possible and making them feel valued. They will have a sense of togetherness with their own age group who understand their issues.
Providing support for the elderly over the festive period for those with limited connection with their families will provide a source of community connectivity and have someone to talk to in their own community languages.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Combatting social exclusion and supporting the elderly suffering from ill health

    Activities

» Organising a celebration for the elderly with multicultural entertainment, a three course meal, transport and small gifts to promote harmony
» Providing home visits for the elderly by skilled staff to those most at risk of social exclusion

We will evaluate how elderly attended the event and the benefits of the day for them

  • Impact

    Impact

We will recognise the needs of the elderly community and how much care needs to be invested into the community to ensure we are providing the necessary support.
Having evaluated the project long term changes can be made as we will be in a better position to apply for external sources of funding for future projects

    Risk

The risks could be not having enough financial support but we will work on this to ensure we promote our project to the wider community to secure pledges and online donations to the full capacity

    Reporting

We will report to donors by means of a written report, and photographs
